2 dead, 7 Injured in LPG tank explosion in Dasmariñas, Cavite

Two people were killed and seven others were injured after a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank exploded inside a house in a private subdivision in Barangay Salawag, Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Firefighters immediately responded to the incident and worked to extinguish the fire that quickly spread inside the affected house.

Authorities identified the homeowner and business operator only as “Greg,” 65, a resident of the area and reportedly the owner of Trijonetrics Corp. LPG.

Initial investigation showed that the explosion originated from a house allegedly used as an operational site of the company, which was conducting repair work on LPG tanks.

Officials said authorities are continuing to verify whether the operation had the necessary permits to conduct such activities inside a residential area.

The fatalities were identified as “Bryan,” 20, and “Honorio,” 65, both residents of the area.

According to authorities, the victims’ remains were found on the veranda and outside the house following the explosion.

Seven other individuals sustained injuries during the incident, although authorities have yet to release further details about their identities and conditions.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to identify any liabilities related to the incident.

Authorities urged the public to remain cautious when handling LPG tanks and to ensure compliance with safety regulations to prevent similar incidents in residential communities.
