18-year-old massage therapist found dead in lodging house bathroom in Roxas City

Authorities are investigating the death of an 18-year-old massage therapist after workers found her unconscious inside the bathroom of a lodging house in Roxas City, an incident that has shocked the local community.

Police said the victim, a resident of Barangay Bangon-Bangon in the town of Sigma, was temporarily staying at the massage and spa establishment where she worked. Initial findings showed that she checked into Room 12 of the lodging house with a man believed to be between 20 and 23 years old.

After several hours, a room attendant knocked repeatedly to remind the occupants about their rental time, but no one responded. Concerned, the attendant entered the room and discovered the young woman slumped and unresponsive inside the bathroom.

Employees immediately reported the incident to authorities. The Roxas City Emergency Response Team confirmed that the victim still had a pulse when they arrived, but she was later declared dead upon reaching the hospital.

Investigators recovered an unknown black powder mixed with water inside a plastic bottle at the scene, which authorities believe may have been forcibly given to the victim. Police also observed marks on her neck, raising suspicions of possible strangulation.
