A 17-year-old boy died after accidentally climbing a fence and suffering electrocution in Barangay San Isidro, General Santos City recently.
Authorities identified the victim as alias San, a resident from Balut Island, Davao Occidental, who stayed with a homeowner nightly.
The homeowner claimed the teenager visited regularly to have company during evenings because he had no companion at his residence.
On the evening of March 21, the homeowner searched for the victim but failed to locate him anywhere nearby immediately.
The following morning, the homeowner discovered the victim hanging on a fence, lifeless after apparent contact with a live wire.
Responding personnel from San Isidro Police Station arrived at the residence and conducted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding incident.
Police officers observed that the victim was holding an electrical wire, suggesting he experienced fatal electrocution while climbing the fence.
Authorities verifying details including how the electrical connection became exposed and whether safety measures were properly installed around the property.
The victim’s remains were transferred to a funeral home where advised the family to coordinate for documentation and legal procedures.
