Eleven people were arrested after authorities raided an alleged drug den in Barangay 27-C, Davao City, during a buy-bust operation early Friday.
The operation was conducted at about 2:40 a.m. on July 11 along Sales Street by joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA-11) and the National Bureau of Investigation Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-SEMRO).
Authorities said the operation targeted a disc jockey identified only as “DJ Kar,” who was arrested after allegedly selling suspected ecstasy to an undercover operative.
Recovered from the suspect were suspected ecstasy with an estimated value of P14,000.
Also arrested were the alleged drug den maintainer, identified only as “Edward,” and three alleged workers identified by their aliases Ryan, Harvey, and Raul.
Five other individuals identified by their aliases Vince, Nathan, Agatha, Destin, Marl, and Kaito were also found inside the establishment during the operation and were taken into custody.
During the raid, authorities recovered jars containing what they described as dissolved ecstasy with an estimated value of P255,000. They also seized 65 marijuana vape cartridges and various drug paraphernalia from the alleged drug den.
All 11 suspects are now under police custody.
They are facing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the identities of the suspects beyond their aliases or disclosed whether further operations related to the case are underway.
The seized illegal drugs and other evidence will be used in the filing of charges against the arrested individuals.
