A high-value drug suspect was arrested and more than ₱1 million worth of suspected shabu was seized during a joint buy-bust operation conducted by law enforcement in Barangay Cogon, Digos City, Davao del Sur on April 8.
Personnel from the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU 11), Digos City Drug Enforcement Unit, and various intelligence divisions, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 11 (PDEA XI), carried out the sting at Purok Kalubihan.
The suspect, identified as alias “Man,” is considered a High-Value Individual (HVI) and is listed as Regional Target Level No. 2.
Confiscated during the operation were one buy-bust sachet and three additional sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 151.51 grams. The illegal drugs have an estimated street value of ₱1,030,268. Authorities also recovered marked and fake currency, a mobile phone, personal items, and identification cards.
The suspect is currently detained at the Digos City Police Station while awaiting the filing of charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Regional Director of PRO 11, commended the operatives, affirming their commitment to the national campaign against illegal drugs. He assured the public of more aggressive actions to ensure a drug-free Davao Region.
