Vice President Sara Duterte’s lead over Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo narrowed to seven percentage points in a hypothetical matchup for the 2028 presidential elections, according to an OCTA Research survey.
The third-quarter Tugon ng Masa survey showed Duterte receiving 40% of voter preferences, down from 43% in the second quarter.
Robredo also recorded a slight decline, with 33% compared with 34% in the previous quarter.
The results showed Duterte’s lead gradually shrinking over the three survey periods. Her advantage stood at 11 percentage points in the first quarter, narrowed to nine points in the second quarter and reached seven points in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, 26% of respondents remained undecided, representing a four-percentage-point increase from the previous survey.
OCTA Research conducted the nationwide survey from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, interviewing 1,200 adult Filipinos.
The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
The findings reflect respondents’ preferences in a hypothetical presidential matchup and do not represent actual election results. The survey measures voter preferences ahead of the 2028 national elections.
