Rescuers continue searching for possible additional victims following the collision of two high-speed trains in Toledo, Spain, as the death toll has risen to 69.
Rescue teams deployed cranes to lift sections of the wrecked trains and gain access to the damaged carriages.
Authorities are carefully inspecting the twisted train cars to determine whether more victims remain trapped beneath the wreckage.
According to Castilla-La Mancha regional government spokesperson Esther Padilla, rescue operations are ongoing as authorities have yet to establish whether additional victims remain trapped.
Regional leader Emiliano Garcia-Page also confirmed that human remains were recovered during the rescue operation, as cranes continued working to reach an overturned carriage.
