Croatia has opened 785 job opportunities for Filipino workers in the hospitality industry following a government-to-government recruitment initiative with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
According to the DMW, nine hotel employers from Croatia personally participated in the recruitment activity to interview applicants for positions such as hotel staff, chefs, waiters, and housekeeping personnel.
A total of 943 applicants were shortlisted for job interviews.
DMW Undersecretary Jainal T. Rasul Jr. and Croatian Employment Service Director General Ante Loncar led the signing of the recruitment procedures on Monday, coinciding with the launch of the initiative.
The agreement between the two countries covers recruitment processes and requirements, as well as legal protections and security measures for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said Filipino workers are recognized for their skills in the hospitality sector.
Meanwhile, Croatian Ambassador to the Philippines Nebojša Koharović welcomed Filipino workers to Croatia.
