Alex Eala continued her impressive run in tennis after defeating Chinese Taipei’s Joanna Garland, 7-5, 6-0, in the women’s singles event at the 2026 Asian Games.
The two players battled through a tight opening set, trading points before Eala pulled away late to take it, 7-5.
The Filipina tennis star then shifted into another gear in the second set, breaking down Garland’s defense and racing to a dominant 6-0 finish.
With the victory, Eala advances to the semifinals and secures another medal for Team Philippines in the women’s singles event.
