The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has formed task forces in several provinces and cities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to strengthen its campaign against vote buying ahead of the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Elections.
COMELEC Chairperson George Garcia said the task forces will operate in areas including Cotabato City and Basilan as part of efforts to intensify the crackdown on vote buying.
The commission also held a series of meetings involving the Electronic Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (ESOCE), the Committee on Kontra-Bigay, and the Committee on Environmentally Sustainable Elections.
COMELEC said it will remain vigilant against vote buying and other election-related violations to help ensure peaceful, orderly, and clean elections in the Bangsamoro.
The commission will continue coordinating with local authorities and other election stakeholders as preparations for the upcoming elections continue.
