Farmer killed, friend wounded in shooting in Sibonga, Cebu

A 29-year-old farmer was killed while his friend was wounded in a shooting in Barangay Tubod at about 9:50 p.m. Aug. 23, police said.

The fatality was identified by the alias “Juvy,” a resident of Argao.

According to police, Juvy was drinking and singing karaoke with friends when he stood up and walked to a dark area about 10 meters away to urinate.

A man wearing a black jacket and a hat suddenly appeared and fired several shots at Juvy.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

Juvy’s friend, identified by the alias “Edward,” 29, was also hit by a stray bullet during the shooting.

The incident occurred while the group was gathered in the area, according to the initial police account.

Authorities continued their investigation into the shooting, including the circumstances surrounding the attack.
