Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is set to compete at the Cincinnati Open, her final WTA 1000 tournament before the US Open.
Eala enters the tournament with a 7-1 record on the North American hard-court swing, highlighted by her first WTA title at the Mubadala DC Open and a Round of 16 finish at the Canadian Open.
Her strong run has lifted her to a career-high World No. 20 ranking and earned her the No. 17 seed in Cincinnati.
The Filipina tennis star will begin her campaign in the second round against Elena-Gabriela Ruse.
If she wins, it could set up a potential meeting with World No. 10 Amanda Anisimova, while further progress could lead to matchups against Linda Noskova and No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula.
Eala will look to make another deep run in the WTA 1000 event as she builds momentum heading into the US Open.
