Authorities and the truck owner are urging residents to return all pigs recovered after a truck carrying nearly 200 animals crashed in Barangay Patpat, Malaybalay City.
The truck, owned by Farm Crest Ventures, figured in an accident on the morning of August 3 after reportedly skidding on a slippery road.
The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, allowing the pigs to escape and scatter across the area.
Several residents collected some of the animals following the incident, prompting the owner and local officials to immediately appeal for their return.
Barangay officials asked residents to bring back every pig they recovered, whether alive or already butchered, to the company truck parked near the spillway.
They emphasized the importance of honesty, cooperation, and respect for other people’s property, especially during unexpected situations.
Local authorities also encouraged the public to support the recovery effort to help minimize the company’s losses and ensure accountability within the community.
The truck owner expressed gratitude to residents who voluntarily returned the pigs after the accident.
Meanwhile, barangay officials remain hopeful that more people will continue cooperating until all missing livestock are accounted for.
