Actress Angel Locsin questioned Senator Robin Padilla after he admitted during the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte that he considers himself a communist.
In a social media post, Locsin said she was initially glad to see what she described as the “old Robin Padilla” she once knew.
However, she asked where the senator was during the time she was being red-tagged, pointing out that he was allegedly associating with and engaging those who were behind the red-tagging.
Naghugas-kamay at pumikit sa katotohanan (My only question is: Where were you when I was being red-tagged, even though you knew it wasn’t true? In fact, you were even with the very people who were red-tagging me, chatting with them. You washed your hands of it and chose to turn a blind eye to the truth),” she said.
Locsin also said that many Filipinos voted for Padilla because they expected him to be a courageous voice for the Muslim community, but questioned why he now appears to be defending Apollo Quiboloy instead.
(One of the biggest reasons many Filipinos voted for you was because they expected you to be a courageous voice for our Muslim brothers and sisters. But why does it seem that you’re defending Quiboloy more? Do you really believe that he is the ‘Appointed Son of God’?) she added.
She likewise expressed disappointment over the senator’s stance on China, saying it was not the Robin Padilla she had known.
In the end, the actress appealed to Padilla to stop and wake up adding that it is not yet too late.
