More than P1 million worth of suspected shabu was seized, four individuals were arrested, and a minor was rescued during separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in Cebu on June 18.
In a buy-bust operation carried out in Sitio Tonggo, Barangay Banilad, Cebu City, authorities arrested two individuals identified only by their aliases, Vicente, 50, and Jecille, 47, who were described as live-in partners and classified as high-value targets.
Recovered from the suspects were 11 packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 160 grams. Authorities estimated the value of the confiscated illegal drugs at P1,088,000.
In a separate operation, law enforcement personnel dismantled a suspected drug den in Barangay Langtad, Naga City, Cebu.
Two additional suspects, identified by the aliases Babing, 39, and Justin, 25, were arrested during the operation.
Authorities also rescued a 15-year-old boy from the area.
Seized from the suspected drug den were additional quantities of suspected shabu valued at more than P74,000, along with various drug paraphernalia.
The operations formed part of ongoing efforts by authorities to combat the illegal drug trade in Cebu and target individuals allegedly involved in the distribution and use of prohibited substances.
All confiscated items were turned over for proper documentation and examination as part of the investigation.
The four arrested suspects are expected to face charges for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the rescued minor but confirmed that appropriate procedures were undertaken following the operation.
Investigations are continuing to determine possible links between the suspects and other illegal drug activities in the region.
