A Manila court has granted the petition for bail of former Negros Oriental representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. in connection with a 2019 murder case.
The case involves the alleged killing of victim Pacito Libron in June 2019 in Negros Oriental.
According to the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 Manila, the prosecution failed to establish conspiracy in the killing.
In a 27-page resolution, the court set bail for Teves at ₱500,000.
However, his lawyer, Ferdinand Topacio, clarified that his client will not be released yet as he still has another pending case.
Meanwhile, Teves’ co-accused were each granted bail set at ₱250,000.
