“Ang dapat na tanong diyan ay kung handa ba si Zaldy Co na magsabi ng katotohanan (The real question is whether Zaldy Co is ready to tell the truth).”

This was the statement from Malacañang after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced the arrest of former congressman and businessman Zaldy Co in Prague.

The Palace challenged Co to disclose the truth regarding the alleged flood control scandal once he returns to the Philippines.

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro said the President welcomed Co’s arrest.

He said that President Marcos’ directive is to hold accountable those who should be held responsible, so who wouldn’t be pleased if a fugitive is brought back to the country?

She also noted that Co’s return to the Philippines would allow him to finally face the allegations against him.

In closing, Castro assured that the President is willing to listen to all sides involved in the issue.
