FPRRD ‘not holding up any hope,’ says Atty. Kaufman

Atty. Nicholas Kaufman revealed that his client, former President Rodrigo Duterte, appears to be holding on to little hope following his first confirmation of charges hearing before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

In an interview, Kaufman said Duterte is “not holding up any hopes” and is no longer expecting anything.

He also shared that the former president has mentioned several times that he may possibly die in detention.

Despite this, the lawyer assured his client that they have evidence that could mount a strong defense.

They are also advising Duterte to go outside the facility and engage in exercise.

Meanwhile, Kaufman reiterated that whether it concerns the possibility of escape, intimidating prosecution witnesses, or continuing to commit crimes, medical experts have stated that it would be impossible for Duterte to do so given his current medical condition.
