Indian student dies after slamming into Cebu flyover wall

A 24-year-old Indian student died in a motorcycle crash early Monday morning, July 21, along the Gov. M. Cuenco Flyover in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

The victim, identified only as “Chetan,” was a resident of Barangay Talamban and a student in Cebu. He was declared dead shortly after being brought to the hospital.

Initial police investigation revealed that the victim and his friend, identified as “Mistry,” were riding separate motorcycles and traveling home together. Mistry told authorities that Chetan was riding at high speed ahead of him.

Upon reaching the flyover, Mistry saw his friend lying unconscious and bloodied on the road.

Emergency responders rushed Chetan to a nearby hospital, but he later died from his injuries.

Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the crash, but speed is being considered a contributing factor. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the incident.

Police are continuing the investigation.
