Horrific crash in Tarlac City kills 8, injures 28 on SCTEX toll road

A massive road crash at the northbound SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway) Toll Plaza in Tarlac City killed eight people and injured 28 others around 12:18 p.m. Thursday, according to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital.

The tragic incident involved three SUVs, a container truck, and a bus. Emergency responders said several victims were pinned inside the wreckage.

Rescue operations were immediately launched by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Tarlac, which began extrication efforts at the scene.

According to the Philippine Red Cross, they dispatched an ambulance and transported two patients to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, where all confirmed fatalities and injured individuals were brought.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims. An investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
