The Department of Justice (DOJ) plans to issue a subpoena to Vice President Sara Duterte following her controversial remarks involving President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
DOJ Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes Andres labeled Duterte a “self-confessed mastermind” during a press briefing in Malacañang, citing her recent statements about contracting someone to assassinate the country’s top officials.
The DOJ is coordinating with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to summon Duterte as part of its due process. Andres clarified that the move respects her position but also ensures accountability.
He further argued that Duterte’s alleged remarks indicate clear motives, stating, “She stands to directly benefit if the assassination plot succeeds.”
