Naglabas na ng memorandum ang Department of Health na “retroactively” na isama ang mga resulta ng saliva test sa COVID-19 daily case count.
Kaugnay nito, inatasan ang Disease Reporting Units (DRUs) laboratories, health facilities, at Epidemiology Surveillance Units (ESUs) na isama ang lahat ng official laboratory results simula noong January 21, 2021, mula sa DOH-accredited Philippine Red Cross (PRC) COVID-19 Testing Laboratories sa daily census ng COVID-19 cases.
Sa gitna nito, pinaalalahanan ng DOH ang PRC na tiyaking nakalagay ang tamang specimen type sa kanilang mga isusumite sa COVID-19 Information Systems at sa corresponding Case Investigation Forms and Individual Laboratory.
Batay sa PRC, ang saliva test na mas mura at mabilis na alternatibo ay may accuracy rate na 98.11 percent sa pagdetect ng SARS-COV 2, ang virus na nagdudulot ng COVID-19. //MHEL PACIA-TRINIDAD
